OCCUPATI0i!AL PADIATION EXPOSURE AT HRC LICEilSED FACILITIES, 1975 - NUREG REPORT AtiD PROPOSED RULE CHAi4GE - AMEilDMENT TO 10 CFR PART 20 On October 12, 1977, Mr. Waltar Cool provided Mr. Dale Scith with a carked-up draft of the subject !!'JREG report and requestad concurrence with the changes.
In subsecuent discussions between members of our respective staffs, it tecame apparent that an early resolution of the amendtent issue, extension of the reporting recuirr.ents, would be in the L2:t ir.tarest Of tna =o officas.
This c:::r:ndu=, thera-fore, will' clarify our position on the bread issue - reporting of occupational radiation exposures - as well as the specific issue -
issuance of the NUREG report.
HUREG Report In my memorandum of Septernher 30, 1977, we provided coments and suggestions on the draft NUREG report as requested in your memorandum of September 2,1977. As noted above, Mr. Cool provided tiMSS with a revised draft of the report which incorporated our concents and those of Inspection and Enforcement. We have reviewed the revised draft and concur in its issuance.
Pronosed Rule Change - Amendment to 10 CFR Part 20 Isot:sithstanding our non-concurrence of September 26, 1975, we recocinend that the rule be published. The infonnation which will be obtained will be useful in our licensing program.
