Description of Event

On June 29, 1981 with Unit 2 at cold shutdown, it was determined that one train of the onsite AC po.wer system had not been tested in accordance with the required 18 month surveillance.

The surveillance that was not performed was a simulated loss of offsite pcwer coincident with an ESF action on the "J" emergency bus (T.S. 4.8.1.1.2.c.6).

Probable Consequences of Occurrence On June 30, 1981, the "J" emergency bus was tested and all equipment functioned properly.

Each individual piece of ESF equipment is tested functionally for loss of power and degraded grid on a two month period.

In addition, each emergency dicsel generator is scheduled to be started by a simulated loss of offsite power in conjunction with an ESF actuation signal at least once per 124 days.

Both emergency busses were operable and the health and safety oi the general public were not affected.

Cause of Event

Both busses were tested pre-operationally on March 16, 1979.

The "H" emergency bus was retested on March 31, 1980.

Both trains were inadvertently scheduled to be tested on September 30, 1981, 18 months from the "H" bus test.

Immediate Corrective Action

The "J" emergency bus was tested satisfactorily on June 30, 1981.

Scheduled Corrective Action Both busses were tested during this cold shutdown and will be scheduled to be performed during the next refueling outage.

Actions Taken to Prevent Recurrence No further action is required.

Generic Imflications There are no generic implications.
