5ttachment To LER 81-15/03L Beaver Valley Power Station Duquesne Light Company Docket No. 50-334 The current Technical Specification requirement for the low flow trip setpoint is 90 percent of the design flow, a fixed value. Ilowever, the actual 1A loop flow is greater than the design flow. The actual IA loop flow has been verified in recently-completed tests at the site. New, if the 90 percent of the design flow is to be maintained as the lov flow requirement, then the ratio of 90 percent of the design flow to ;]O percent of the actual flow will result in a percentage whic' is less than 85 percen* of the actual flow. The 85 percent setpoint was used to conservatively satisfy the requirements and also reduce the intermittent alarms until the cause can be determined.
