In the past AP&L interpreted the Regulatory Guide 1.21 solid waste shipment r
report to only include waste shipped to be buried, not processed.
As a-result of a concern identified during a QA audit this interpretaticn has been reviewed and a more conservative approach of including all waste shipments, both to burial sites and to processors, has been adopted.
This approach will ensure that all waste that will eventually be buried is reported. Therefore, the following corrections were made to the attached-Solid Waste Release Report:
1)-
A spent fuel-cask shipment was added. This cask contained fuel rods to be examined as part of a DOE extended burnup program.
l 2)
Three shipments of dry active waste made to Quadrex'for further processing, volume reduction, and disposal were added.
3)
Twenty cubic meters of buried dry active waste and 471 millicuries of activity were added to 1.he dry active waste totals due to results provided by Quadrex.
