Gentlemen:

Subject: Inspection 50-334/80-29

This refers to your letter dated February 13,. 1981, in response to our letter

dated January 22, 1981.

After careful review we find the action to prevent recurrence for Item 1 is not

responsive. Identifying the door as an " unavoidable security hazard" and instruc-

ting station personnel to " avoid unauthorized release of the lock on vital area

emergency exits" is not considered adequate to prevent recurrence. We consider

more positive action to be necessary, such as modification of the door or reposi-

tioning of the alarm.

We also note that the date on which compliance will be achieved is March 31,

1981. We do not understand the reason for the time delay in achieving compliance

for this item.

You are requested to reevaluate the actions taken to prevent recurrence of Item

1 and detennine the reason for the delay in achieving compliance.

Please respond

to this office within twenty-five (25) days of receipt of this letter.

Sincerely,

/
