EDWIN I. HATCH NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1, 2 to PROCEDURES FOR STATION BLACKOUT Gentlenen:

Georgia Power Coropany is currently reviewing our existing emergency procedures as requested bf your letter of February 25, 1981.

In order to ensure a thorough assessment of our existing and planned precedures and training for this event, we request an extension until June 17, 1981, for submittal of the 90-day response as outlined in your letter.

This has been discussed with the Hatch Licensing Project Manager.

  • Evaluations to date indicate that existing procedures address many of the ccncerns identified.

In addition, the 'systen grid which supplies offsite power to Plant Hatch is historically stable, with six separace lines feeding the switchyard.

Thus, an extremely low probability for this event exists at Plant Hatch.

Thank you for your consideration Jn this matter.

Sincerely, 0

=N J. T. Beckham, Jr.
