Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

On April 22, 1981, Mr. Virgil Brownlee of the NRC Region II Office was notified of a potential cubstantial safety hazard involving the Turbine Driven Emergency Feedwater Pump Lube Oil Cooler. At this time, South Carolina Electric and Gas Company has not completed its review of this problem. However, we are continuing with our review and expect to complete our evaluation by June 22, 1981.
