Ferguson dated Octooer 21,1980 Gentlemen: Thank you for yoin letter, Reference (1), responding to the item of noncompliance provided to you by Reference (2). Cur review of the information presented in your letter indicates that there may oe a misunderstanding concerning the cause of the item of noncompliance. Consequently, we need additional information to permit our assessment of your corrective actions. According( pursuant to Section 2.201 of the ilRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, you are required to submit to this office, within twenty-five (25) days of the date of this letter, a written statement or explanation addressing the following questions regarding the finding and the incorporation of AtiSI equipment storage requirements into contractor procedures. 1. As indicated in IE Inspection Report flo. 50-508, 509/80-10 which accompanied the subject flotice of Violation, site records showed that the charging pump storage requirements detailed by Peter Kiewit , Sons' procedure were being met. However, this procedure failed to - establish adequato measures to maintain final location storage conditions within the standards invoked by the contract specification; namely, the A!!SI il45.2.2-1972 standard. Uhat specific actions have been taken to ensure that the Peter Kiewit Sons' maintenance procedure , f adequately incorporates the specific storage requirements of l AflSI !!45.2.2-19727 l 2.
