In response to your inquiry on December 19, the preparation of the State of Technology Report on Fission Product Iodine is on schedule as sumarized l
below:
First draft chapters to NRC January 19, 1981 Final draft chapters to NRC February 27, 1981 Final draft issued for review March 10, 1981 Review Group Meeting March 16, 1981 Comis{on Paper March 24, 1981 l
The objective of the report is to provide the Commission with the best I
available technical bases for judgments related to Rulemaking and regulatory l
requirements for engineered safety features.
The scope of the report and principal contributors include the following:
Accident Sequence Characteristics (BCL)
Fission Product Release from Fuel (ORNL, ANL, INEL) l-Chemistry of Iodine and Cesium Iodide (Sandia, ORNL)
(including data of Malinauskas and Campbell)
Fission Product Transport in Primary System (BCL, Sandia)
Expected Transport and Leakage Behavior of Iodine (BCL, ORNL)
Effect of Accident Loads on ESF's (NRR, ORNL, BCL)
