BEAVER VALLEY UNIT 2 - COMPLETION OF REVIEW ON PRESSURIZER SUP.GELINETHERMAL' STRATIFICATION (TACNO.-72111)
We have completed our evaluation of the Beaver Valley Unit 2 pressurizer surge line thermal stratification issue. :The. safety evaluation:is enclosed (Enclosure 1).
We based our evaluation on your letters dated January 4, May 16, May 17, and
-August _30, 1989. We also conducted a site audit-August 3-4, 1989, to'obtain-additional information.
(Enclosure 2 is the attendee sign-in sheet for the-exit meeting).
Our_ evaluation concludes that the information provided by you'is compre--
hensive and acceptable. You have made acceptable efforts to meet all-requested actions as delineated in the-NRC Bulletin 8811..Your efforts have demonstrated that based on plant-specific temperature profiles defined by available stratification data on Beaver Valley Unit 2, the surge line meets the ASME Code Section III acceptance. criteria.
This completes our efforts on the' subject issue. The review was preformed by Mr. S. Hou, with contractual support provided by Mr. F._Vasiliadis.
