Dear Mr. Denton:
1 South Carolina Electric & Gas Company, acting for itself and as agent for South Carolina Public Service Authority, provides forty-five (45) copies of the following information to supplement the responses in our letter te you dated 9/23/80 on the same subject. This informa-tion was requested by Mr. Peter H2arn of the NRO in a phone conference on 10/2/80.
The ranges for post accident monitoring instrumentation provided i
to indicate containment water level, containment pressure and hydrogen concentration are consistent with the requirements of NUREG-0578 NUREG-0660 and proposed revision 2 to Regulatory Guide 1.97 (Working i
Paper E dated 8/20/80).
The qualification of these instruments is consistent with presene t licensing commitments on Regulatory Guides 1.89 (Rev. 0) and 1,97. (Rev. 0) -
shown in FSAR Section 3A.
Specifically, the Rosemount transmitters used to sense containment water level and containment wide range pressure have^

been qualified to IEEE-323-71 and IEEE-344-75. The recently purchased containment hydrogen concentration monitors are to be qualified to IEEE-323-74 and IEEE-344-75.
The information provided in our 9/24/80 response to NUREG-0588 includes additional details about the qualification of these instruments in accordance with Regulatory Guides 1.89 and 1.97.
