Dear Mr. '.>enton:
In our April 22, 1981, letter South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G) noted three areas which were open with regard to emergency planning and committed to res se those areas by either, (1) meeting the requirements and implementation dates in NUREG-0654 and NUREG-0696, or (2) come to a mutually agreeable solution in the requirements with the NRC staff. In our May 12,.1931, letter we provided

responses to concerns raised during the review of' our Emergency Response Plan regarding meteorology. Included in that response was a description of the trans-port and diffusion' portion of the dose calculation methodology.
After discussing this with Mr. Tom Kevern and Mr. William Kane of the NRC, SCE&G would like to clarify that our commitment to meet NUREG-0654 Revision 1 applies to the dose assessment aspects found in Appendix 2 of NUREG-0654 Revision 1.
