Page 1 of 1 Docket No. 50-339 Report No. LER 81-030/03L-0 Description of Event On March 16, 1981, during Mode 1 operation, the casing cooling pump 2-RS-P-3B was removed from service to repair a valve leak. This action was taken in order to prevent the pressurization of the casing cooling subsystem while the valve bonnet was removed.

Probable Consequences of Occurrence The casing cooling subsystem was returnt d to service within the time period required by the T.S. 3.6.2.2 action st.tement, therefore the health and safety of the general public were not affected.

Cause of Event The casing cooling subsystem was removed from service to repair a body to bonnet leak on valve MOV-RS-2018.

Immediate Corrective Action The body to bonnet gasket was replaced and the system returned to service.

Scheduled Corrective Action No further action required.

Actions Taken to Prevent Recurrence No further action required.
