Narrative

Report for LER 50-366/1931-015.

On flarch 4,1981, with the reactor mode switch in start-up and operations performing ifNP-2-1010, Scran Recovery Procedure, IRfi H (2C52-K601K) would not come on scale for overlap check between IRM's and SRM's which nade it Tech Spec Section 3.3.1 requires two operable channels. IRt!

inoperative.

"B" was also inop at that time.

This requirement was met by operable chan-nel s " D" and " F". This is not a repetitive event.

An investigation of the IRM found the pins on the range plug, which plugs into the back of the IRM, pushed back and not naking a good connection.

The pins on the range plug were repaired and the IRM is now working properly.

The surveillance testing was completed satisfacterily.

A generic review revealed no problems with the range plugs on the Unit I IRM's.

There were no effects to public health and safety due to this event.
