This refers to your letter of April 24, 1981, informing us of steps you have
taken to correct the violations concerning activities under NRC Operating License
No. DPR-71 brought to your attention in our letter of March 30, 1981.
Your
response' presented additional information that the pholohelic unit was removed
from containment. post-accident radiation monitor 1-CAC-AQH-1262 on or about
May 27, 1980 under Work Authorization No.1370 rather than on June 20,1980 under
work Authorization 1586 as stated in our Notice of Violation. You further state
that CP&L acknowledges that the removal of the photohelic unit on May 27, 1980
under Work Authorization No. 1370 was conducted in noncompliance with Technical
Specifications pertaining to the adequacy of written procedures. We will eumine
your corrective actions and plans during subsequent inspections.
