Y Gentlemen:
This refers to a discussion between yourself and Mr. W. Rekito of this office on April 3, 1981 and to a telephone conversation between yourself and Mr. T.
Martin of this office on April 7,1981 regarding our concerns for your imple-mentation of the required Inservice Testing Program of safety-related pumps.
With regard to the matters addressed in the referenced discussion and telephone conversation we understand that you will:
1.
Review all safety-related pump operability test procedures for conformance with 10 CFR 50.55a(g) and your commitments to the NRC contained in your letter dated September 8, 1980.
2.
Where system configuration and existing instrumentation permit, revise applicable test procedures and perform pump operability tests using the methods and techniques described in Section XI of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
These actions to be completed prior to plant restart from the April-May, 1981 outage.
3.
Provide a written report to Region I prior to plant restart from this outage describing the results of '.em 1 along with a plan and schedule for achieving total conformance.
