Description of Event

The Quench Spray Pump (2-QS-P-1A) and four quench spray valves (2-QS-73,72,201A and 2-MOV-QS-200A) were removed from service to repair leaks. This was contrary to T.S. 3.6.2.1.

Probable Consequences of Occurrence The leaks were repaired and the subsystem was returned to service within 72 hours8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br /> as required by the action statement.

In addition, the redundant quench spray subsystem remained operable throughout this period. Therefore, the health and safety of the general public were not affected.

Cause of Event

This event was caused by removing the quench spray subsystem from service to repair leaks.

Immediate Corrective Action

The leaks were repaired and the system returned to service within 72 hours8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br />.

Scheduled Corrective Action No further action required.
