This refers to the meeting held at our request at the Beaver Valley Power
Station, Shippingport, Pennsylvania on May 19, 1981 to discuss the findings
of the NRC Region I Systematic Appraisal of Licensee Perfomance (SALP)
program evaluation board relating to your perfomance in conducting activities
authorized by NRC License No. OPPR-105.
This meeting was attended by Mr. Washabaugh of your staff and by Messrs.
Greenman and Walton of my staff. The subjects discussed at this meeting
included the results of an appraisal board composed of the Deputy Director
and NRC Region I Branch Chiefs.
It is our view that this meeting was beneficial and improved mutual under-
standing of your program and our inspection efforts.
In accordance with Section 2.790, of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosures
will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
No reply to this letter is required; however, should you have any questions
concerning this matter, we will be pleased to discuss them with you.
