Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
My letter of November 26, 1980 provided our response to Infraction 413/414/
80-23-02, " Diesel Generator Battery Racks not Seismically Qualified".
At

that time the verification of the seismic design had not been received from the vendors.
Subsequently battery racks 1DGBA-B and 2DGBA-B have been redesigned and seismically tested. The batteries were in place during the seismic test. The test results were satisfactory.
Transamerica Delaval Inc.
supplied the battery rack through their vendor, Nife, Inc. Transamerica Delaval Inc. has committed to taking steps in the i
future to prevent recurrence of problems of this nature.
They are to (1) audit the proposed manufacturer to assure his capability to produce the parts in accordance with contract requirements, (2) review final drawing to insure all requirements are met including seismic qualifications, (3) perform a final inspection of all parts before release for shipment is granted.
