While performing SI 4.4.'A.2 it was found that 3B SLC pump discharge' relief valve would not relieve at 1500.plus psi.

Conditions' Prior to Occurrence: -

Unit 1 @ 27%

Unit 3 @ 100%

" Unit 3 0 0% refueling outage Action specified in the Technical Specification Surveillance Requirements met due to inoperable equipment. Describe.

None required.

Apparent Cause of Occurrence:

Valve disc galled or binding with valve guide.

Analysis of Occurrence:

There was no damage to plant equipment. There was no activity release, no personnel exposure or injury and so dagger to the health or safety of the public.

Corrective Action

' Valve was replaced and the new valve verified operable. The damaged valve vilj. be sent to the manufactufer for rebuild and testing.
