Identification and Description of Occurrence:

With unic 3 in a scheduled refueling outage, the limit switch on the refuel platform failed,to prevent the platform from moving over' the core during a functional test.

Conditions' Prior to Occorrence:

Unit 1 - in shutdown condition Unit 2 - 90% steady state power

. Unit 3 - in scheduled refue. ling outage.

Action specified in the Technical Specification Surveillance Requirements met due to inoperable equipment. Describe.

N/A Apparent Cause of Occurrence:

The limit switch failed because of natural end of life due to wear.

Analysis of Occurrence:

There was no danger to the health or safety of the public, no damage to plant or equipment, no release of activity, and no significant resulting chain of events.

Corrective Action

The switch was replaced and the functional test run successfully.
