Dear Sir:
After careful consideration and further conversations with plant personnel, we feel a more practical approach can be made te the improve-ment of departmental training and supervisory controls than was outlined in reference -(c). We propose for your consideration, tb following changes in reference (c) :
1.
In the first paragraph of our reply on the bottom of page 2, change the last sentence to read:
"When issued, this procedure will specifically outline the training required for Chemistry and Health Physics personnel".
2.
Add the following to this same paragraph:
"AP-9000 gives in detail the training requirements with respect to physical plant layout (familiarization), the department's written procedures and policies, and on-the-job instruction, both for initial training and annual retraining. The individual is stated, by means of the instructor's signature, to have completed each of the above requisites before he is allowed to perform any of the stipulated evolutions on his own cognirance."
It is expected that AP-9000 will be adopted by May 19, 1975 and that its implementation will commence immediately there-after.
3.
Change the next paragraph to read:
"As an interim measure, tighter superviscry controls over Radiation Work Permits and radiation surveys have been instituted by (1) allowing 8 0110so 7of

4.
Cn'page 3, change the last sentence of the fifth paragraph to read:
"Upon conclusion of this analysis, to be completed by May 31, 1975, necessary corrective action will be implemented."
We trust that you will find these proposed changes satisfactory; however, if you desire additional information, please feel free to c.-
