4 LER ATTACHMENT - RO # 2-80-52 Facility: BSEP Unit No. 2 Event Date: 09-03-80 A defective transistor in each of the probe buffer cards of rod number 22-31 and rod number 26-19 caused the " full in" and " full out" indication problems experienced with each rod. The defective transistors were replaced and the

" full in" and " full out" indications for each rod were checked satisfactory.

The transistors apparently failed due to end of life; therefore, no further action is required.

Exact causes for the continuous rod " drift alarm" on rod number 26-23 and the poaltion "04" indication problem on rod number 22-31 cannot be determined until the next outage of sufficient length to allow access to the drywell.

These problems will be corrected at that time.
