Inspection Report No. 50-219/89-25
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by J. Kottan of this
office on October 16-20, 1989, of activities authorized by NRC License
No. DRP-16 at the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station, Forked River, New
Jersey, and to the discussions of our findings held by J. Kottan with Mr. R.
i
Hillman and other members of your staff at the conciusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
In addition, our Mobile Laboratory was also orought to your site and used by
the inspector to make certain independent measurements.
The basic purpose of
these independent measurements is to verify your capability for analyzing
radioactive effluents, and to achieve and maintain comparable methods of
analyses between your facility and the NRC.
The complete data from these
measurements will be reported in a subsequent inspection report.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
