This refers to your letter dated July 15,.1980, in response to our letter
dated June 4 1980;.
Thank you for informing us of the corrective and preventive actions documente'd
in your. letter. These actions will .be examined during a. subsequent inspection.
of your licensed program.
With regard to your comments concerning 'the Type A test results, our position
as stated in Inspection. Report No. 50-293/80-20 remains the same. That is,
the initial. Type A test on May 5,- 1980 failed to meet the acceptance criteria
and you are therefore subject to the increased frequency of test requirements
of.10-CFR 50, Appendix J, section III.A.6.(b). Mr. Rekito of this office
confinned your understanding of our position in 'a discussion with Mr.
Machon of your staff during a telephone conversation on August 8,1980.
