As a result of an investigation and audit conducted on December 17, 1979, by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Bureau of Radio-logical Health, it was revealed that your organization delivered radioactive waste to the State of South Carolina without complying with all applicable NRC regulations pertaining to the shipment of radioactive materials.

inspection was conducted on December 27-28, 1979 to determine the circumstances.,,..

In our view, the item of noncompliance in Appendix A demonstrates a lack of p!
effective control of activities associated with the shipment of radioactive waste.
In view of the circumstances surrounding the survey at your facility, we propose a Civil Penalty in the amount of Five Thousand ($5,000) Dollars as set forth in Appendix 8.
