1.
Releases from the following nuclear facilities were considered: Point Beach, Kewaunee, Zion, Cook, Bailly, Palisades, Douglas Point (Canada), Bruce (Canada), Greenwood, Fermi and Davis-Besse.
2.
The cubic volume of the western basin of Lake Erie is 5.8 cubic miles.
3.
The flow into the western basin through the Detroit River is estimated at about 177,000 cfs.
4.
The retention time for water in the western basin of Lake Erie is approximately 56 days.
5.
Release rates are based upon information contained in AEC Detailed Environmental Statements, or where such information is not available, on suitable averages based on AEC data for similar reactors.
)
6.
Complete and uniform mixing.
