Description of Occurrence:
At approxinately 1115 hours0.0129 days <br />0.31 hours <br />0.00184 weeks <br />4.242575e-4 months <br /> on June 22, 1976, a leak was discovered'at a socket weld, pipe to 900 elbow weld, in the primary makeup pump P36C suction relief line. The leak proved to be a crack in' the socket weld.
' The leakage rate was not measured but it was observed to be a steady drip.

i Since the leak could be isolate'd at the pump suction and discharge and i 1 only two of the three pumps are. required to be operable at power, there was no hazard to the health and safety of the public.

The section of piping and the 900 elbow containing the crack was removed and repairs were mad'e by installing a new 'section of pipe and elbow.

Failure Data:
No equipment malfunction was involved. The affected weld is similar j
to cracked welds reported in reports 50-313/74-12 and 50-313/75-3.
