POTENTIAL SAFETY PROBLEM SURRY NO. 1 SU3 JECT:
During a recent interview I was conducting,regarding a pending investigation, an employee of.IE, NRC, advised me of a possible safety problem at Surry 1.,
The employee stated that wher$D was at Region II, a. -<-DW%

During an inspector with Reaion II,. conducted an inspection at the inspectionW~Nh found some bad welds in the neutron shield of The emp1ofe'eltated.thaC-had supported his findings of Unit 1.
