Gentlemen:
This is in response to your letter of August 15, 1977, which responded
to the Notice of Violation and our letter of July 22, 1977, concerning
activities in noncompliance with NRC Operating License Nos. DPR-38,
Steps you have taken to correct the items of noncompliance were discussed
during a telephone conversation between Messrs. G. R. Jenkins of this
office and M. S. Tuckman of your staff on October 22, 1977. This dis-
cussion confirmed our understanding that recommended short term actions
precluding further noncompliance involving pH release limits have been
completed.
We will examine your corrective actions and other long term
plans still under evaluation during subsequent inspections.
Should you have any questions concerning this letter, we would be happy
to meet with you and discuss this matter further.
