VERNON, INDIANA 3)3 ZION 2 (50-304), ARKANSAS NUCLEAR 1 (50--311), THREE MILE ISLAND 2 (50-320),IRANCHO SECO (50-312L The attached report of a vendor inspection at the Babcock and Wilcox Company, Mt. Vernon, Indiana, Plant on August 23-27, 1971, is transmitted for information and action.
One item of apparent code nonconformance, concerned with the heat treatment of an inlet recirculation nozzle-to-shell weld, was dis-cussed with management personnel at the conclusion of the inspection.
A draft CDN, covering this item, was sent to CO:HQ for action, via

TWX, on September 23, 1971.
As stated.in this report, and also stated in the above mentioned TWX,
~ Babcock and Wilcox-has identified the area of the inspection dealing with the apparent item of nonconformance as company proprietary.
