Description of Event

On June 7, 1980 with Unit 2 in the Hot Standby condition the steam supply to the steam driven auxiliary feedwater pump was isolated to repair a cap to body leak on a main steam check valve. This event is reportable pursuant to T.S. 6.9.1.9.b.

Probable Consequences of Occurrence Two motor driven auxiliary feedwater pumps were operable and the steam driven auxiliary feedwater pump was returned to service within the 72 hour8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br /> limit specified by the Action Statement of the LCO (T.S. 3.7.1.2);

therefore, the public health and safety were not affected.

Cause of Event

The steam supply to the auxiliary feedwater pump was isolated to repair a cap to body leak on a main steam check valve.

Immediate Corrective Action

The check valve leak was repaired and the steam supply to the steam driven auxiliary feedwater pump restored. The steam driven auxiliary feedwater pump was tested to prove operability immediately after the steam supply was restored.

Scheduled Corrective Action No scheduled corrective actions are required.

Actions Taken To Prevent Recurrance No actions to prevent recurrance are required.
