2356 CST Identificatien and Description of Occurrence A surveillance instruction (SI74) en Auxiliary Essential Raw Cooling (AERCW) pump E-B was performed on 5/24/E0 prior to entry into !fode 4.

The unit operator made a computation error in calculating the differen-tial Treasure and erroncously passed the purp. Therefore, unit i entered Mede 4 at 2356 CST on 5/24/60 with SR 4.0.5 and LCO 3.7.4.2 unsatisfied.

AERCW pump D-B nctually ' ailed due to low differential prescure. The purp was discovered to not meet the acceptance criteria during the review process or. 6/5/80 at 1100 CST.

Conditions Prior to occurrence Unit 1 in Mode 5.

Actions cpecified in the Technical Specifications Surveillnnce Requiremento not met due to inoperab1_e ecuipment.

Unit 1 be in cold shutdevn (Mode 5) within 30 hours3.472222e-4 days <br />0.00833 hours <br />4.960317e-5 weeks <br />1.1415e-5 months <br />.

Apparent Cause of Occurrence Computational error.

Analysis of Occurrence There was no hazard to the public health and safety.

Corrective Action

Reinstruct operating personnel.

It is suspected that a problem exists with installed inotrumentation cnd not with the pump. The instrumentation was recalibrated and SI rerun and pump B-B passed en 6/9/80.
