Description of Event On May 20, 1980, with the unit in Mode 3, the personnel air lock seal leakage test, 2-FT-62.4, was performed and leakage was detected.

This is contrary to T.S. 3.6.1.3 and reportable pursuant to T.S.

6.9.1.9.b.

Probable Consequences of Occurrence Since the plant had never been critical prior to this occurrence, there was no fission product buildup in the core and the health and safety of the general public were not affected.

Cause of Event Examination of the personnel air lock showed that the inner door

- seal gasket required cleaning and the outer door seal needed to be I

replaced.

Immediate Corrective Action l The inner door seal was cleaned and the outer door seal was replaced.

Scheduled Corrective Action The periodic test 2-PT-62.4 shall be performed after each opening, except when the air lock is being used for multiple entries, then at least once per 72 hours8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br />.

Actions Taken to Prevent Recurrence No further actions are required.
