Sequoych Nuc10cr Plant LER SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION SQRO-50-327/ 8071 Technical Specification Involved 6.9.1.13.d Reported Under Technical Specification 6.9.1.13.d Date of Occurrence: 5/17/80 3-11 shift Identification and Description of Occurrence:

The rupture disk on the boric acid evaporator was found ruptured.

This provided a path via the noncondensible gas vent on the BA evaporator for the contents of.the waste gas decay tank to escape into the BA evaporator room.

Conditions Prior to Occurrence:

Unit 1 in Mode 3 Apparent Cause of Occurrence:

Cause of ruptured disk unknown.

Analysis of Occurrence:

i There was no danger to public health and safety.

,p

Corrective Action

Requested Engineering Design to further investigate this LER in that rupturing the rupture disk will not cause an uncontrolled release.

si.

Failure Data:

This was the first event of this nature.
