New unresolved items are identified in Section III of the summary cf the
enclosed report.
9
During the inspection, it was found that certain activities under'your
license appear to be in violation of AEC requirements.
The violations
and reference to pertinent requirements are listed in Section I of the
summary of the enclosed report.
The violations in Section I were found,
corrected and reported by Duke Power Co:pany and no further response is
requested.
We are concerned about the timeliness of your corrective actions.
Re-
garding the item discussed in paragraph II. A.l. of the su= mary of the
report, all of the corrective action described in your letter dated
May 24, 1974, had not been implemented at the ti=e of the inspection.
In this case a door had been erected to the specific high radiation area
identified in the citation but doors had not been installed in other
high radiation areas. As you are aware, we are as interested in prompt
action to correct and prevent similar violations as we are in action to
correct the specific violation cited.
It is also noted that the items
discussed in paragraphs II.A.S. and II.A.6. were incompletely answered
in your letter dated Eby 24, 1974, and that we have verbally requested
supplemental information which we still have not received.
Accordingly,
please provide, in writing within 20 days , actions which have been taken
or are planned to improve the ti=eliness of corrective actions. You are
also requested to include a date when you will provide the information
needed to co=plete our review of the items discussed in paragraphs II. A.S.
and'II.A.6.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the AEC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a ecpy of this letter and the
enclosed inspection report will be placed in the AEC's Public Document
Room.
If this report contains any infor:ation that you believe to be
proprietary, it is necessary that you submit a written application to
this office requesting that such information be withheld frem public

If no proprietary 'information is identified, a written
statement to that effect should be submitted.
If an application is
subtitted , it must fully identify the bases for which information is

and referenced in the application since the application will be placed
in the Public Docu=ent Room. Your application, or written statement,
should be submitted to us within 20 days.
If we are not contacted as
-specified, the enclosed report and this letter may then be placed in the
