Dear Mr. Davis:
With reference to your letter of April 7, 1971, concerning apparent dcfficiencies in document control on the Oconee Units 2 and 3 construction activities, we would comment as follows --
In the last paragraph on the first page of your letter, yo t indicate that there is no evidence that Duke has a QC procedure for document control. Contrary to this in.pression, we do have a procedure for document control. Attached is one copy of " Procedure for Drawing Control" dated February 18, 1970. This procedure covers the control of Duke Engineering Department drawings and Duke manufacturer's drawings, and has been implemented since February 13, 1970.
We now realize that this procedure does have some limitations as evidenced by Mr. Brownlee's discussicn with Messrs. Beam and Htmnicutt on March 12, 1971. We are therefore in the procers of revising the above procedure in an effort to effect better control of all documents on the jobsite.
A rough draft of our revision will be available for Mr. B ownlee'. review during his next visit to the job. The original copy of our present,arocedure for drawing control will also be available for Mr. Brownlee's review, since he apparently did not review this procedure at the time of his last visit.
