PAT 101 Marietta St., Suite 3100 50-302/79-50 Atlanta, Georgia 30303

Dear Mr..O'Reilly:

We offer the following response to the apparent Item of Noncompliance

.in the referenced inspection report.

NOTICE OF VIOLATION As required by Technical Specification 6.8.1, written procedures shall be established, implemented and maintained. Administrative Procedure AI-800, Section 7.4.5 and Enclosure 3 requires that the emergency medical team members receive annual training.

Emergency Procedure EM-206 identifies plant personnel who are members of the emergency medical team.

Contrary to the above, a review of emergency medical team training records on December 5, 1979, indicated that first aid retraining for all members of the emergency medical team is deficient and shift supervisors who are members of the emergency medical team did not receive the annual training specified by AI-800,. Enclosure 3.

-Response:

A first aid training course has been established by the Training I

Department and plant personnel from all departments are presently being v

trained. Administrative Instructions AI-800 and Emergency Procedure EM-206 t.

Y~

will be revised to del'ete the requirement for Emergency Medical Team member-ship of Shift Supervisors. The required Chem / Rad and Operations personnel are now being trained as permitted by existing plant conditions and all re-

)

quired Emergency Medical Team personnel will have completed this training 7

by 1 May 1980.

Full compliance will then be achieved.

Should there be further questions, please contact us.

Very truly yours, i
