Appendix 1 u n ment of Work FIN # B6384' l.0 Backcround The ;;F.C is preparing a Safety Analysis Report (SAR) for a package design t'o ransport plutonium by air.
The SAR will be reviewed by the ACRS and the National Academy :f Sciences before the package is certified to Ccngress under Public t.au 94-79.
Mction 9.0 of the SAR contains engineering specifications and drawings
- that describe and define the package design. The f1RC approval document will require that licensees follow these drawings and specification; to fabricate packages for air transport of plutonium.
The drawings and specifications provided by the developer 'of the package are not completely suitable for use in a SAR or to be referenced in an NRC. approval document.. Consequently, RES has contracted with an ex-perienced package manufacturer to recomend appropriate changes to the
_ drawings and to provide the NRC with " marked-up" drawings from which a revised set of drcwings:can be prepared.
The purpose of this contract is to obtain professional drafting services to prepare a final set of drawings for the SAR based upon the " marked-up" versions produced under the RES contract (FIN fB-6291).

-2 2.0 Ucrk Recuired The NRC will provide the Centractor with a tat of approximately 40 full-size, reproducible drawings of the l'ccei PAT-1 package.
Various changes and revisions will be indicated (penciled) on the drawings.
The Contractor shall prepare a revised set of engineering drawings that incorporate the indicated changes.
Because the indicated changes

will include various deletions and consolidation of information, the revised drawing set prepared by the Contractor is expected to consist of approximately 20 sheets)"The Contractor shall utilize the services of qualified draftsmen -and ' supervisory personnel to ass'ure that the 1
revised drawings are accurate and of high professional quality. Upon
~ completion of the work, the Contractor is required to provide the ftRC with two (2) sets of full-size, reproducible drawings and six (6) sets of full-size prints. The period of performance under this contract
-shall-begin on January 16,1978 and shall end on February 3,1978, at

which time all work shall be completed.
