Oconee Nuclear Station - Unit 1 Docket lio 50-269 Provisional Construction Permit No CPPR-33
Dear Dr Morris:
We herewith apply for an extension of time for completion of Oconce Unit I as covered by Provisional Construction Permit No CPPR-33.
That permit calls for completion of the f acility by February 28, 1971. We have been delayed in completing the facility, principally because of late delivery of reactor systua components fran the supplier.
The original schedule specified jobsite delivery of major reactor system components by May 1,1969 Due to strikes and other difficut ties in the manuf acturer's shops, the reactor vessel did not arrive until February 6,1970, and other major reactor system components were also substantially late.
Further, af ter field assembly of the primary system, it was then necessary to remove pump casings and connecting piping for the substitution of different pumps. Some of the time lost by these events has been made up during construction, but the balance of tirre lost is reficcted in late completion of the f acility.
We ask for an extension of time to September 30, 1971, and please construe this letter as an " Application for Renewal of Construction Permit."
