Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

On March 28, 1980 South Carolina Electric & Gas Company reported to the NRC that we were reviewing the failure of one of our service water booster pumps as a potential substantial safety hazard as defined by 10CFR21. We have determined that the item is reportable, and we are reporting it as a significant deficiency under 10CFR50.55(e). Details are presented on the attached sheets.
