LER SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION SQRO-40-327/80023 Technical Specification Involved 3.8.1.2.b.

Reported Under Technical Specification 6.9.1.13.b Date of Occurrence: 4/2/80 Time of occurrence: 0815 CST Unit 1 Identification and Description of Occurrence:

Diesel Generator (D/C) 2A-A feeder air circuit breaker (ACB) failed to close with D/G 1B-B tagged out for maintenance.

Per LCO 3.8.1.2.b, either lA-A and 2A-A or 1B-B and 2B-B D/G are required to be OPERABLE.

Conditions Prior to Occurrences:

Unit 1 in Mode 6 with initial fuel loaded.

Action specified in the Technical Specification Surveillance Requirements met due to inoperable equipment. Describe.

No operations involving CORE ALTERATIONS or positive reactivity changes were taking place at the time.

Annarent Cause of Occurrence:

The centrol power contacts of the ACB were apparently dirty.

Q Analysis of Occurrenc :

There was no hazard ti the public health or safety.

Corrective Action

The power contacts were cleaned.
