INWARD BULCES IN CONTAINNENT LINER PIANT (LICENSING }EMO TO SMUD DATED JULY 27, 1972)
DOCKET NO. 050-0312 The subject letter to SMUD indicates that Licensing may not realize, and therefore should be informed, that the liner plate does not bear against the concrete in all instances of liner plate bulging.
The only place where the separation may occur is at bulges at horizontal joints that were formed during the placement cf ;i~*ete.
These bulges were formed in the joints at the bottom of '.tw lift since the lifts, which where were 10 feet high, were always started at the horizontal joint.
The above information was confir;ned by telephone in a df scussion with John Hiltz, S}RJD Resident Engineer, on August 4, ifl72.
