Docket No. 50-302 '/g

Dear Mr. DeYoung:

As requested in your letter to us of September 26 regarding the generic problem of non-category I (seismic) equipment failure, we wish to advise that our in-depth review of the circulating water and fire protection systems will be concluded prior to December 31, 1972.

Analysis of these two systems you specifically mentioned is being expanded to cover failure of any non-category I equipment. This broadening of the investigation on our part to be responsive to your request requires the amount of time so given.

Please contact us if you desire further information in this regard or this submittal timing is inappropriate.
