5. Identification of occurrence:

Failure to demonstrate the operability of the nuclear services closed cycle cooling system within the time frame required by Technical Specification 4.7.3.1 and 4.3.3.5.

6. Conditions Prior to Occurrence:

7. Descriptica of Occurrence:

At 1530 w' tile reviewing completed surveillance procedures, it was discovered that the surve.illance procedure for nuclear services cooling system operability (SP-344) ,

had last been performed on 10 May 1977. A change to the surveillance schedule had .

been effected in order to comply with the ASME Section XI and SP-344 was scheduled --

and comp.!eted on 24 June 1977. 'Ihe new surveillance schedule will insure Tech Specs frequency requirements are met. >

The schedule of surveillance procedures was changed to comply with the new ASME Section XI requirmnen'.s causing a shift in scheduling dates.

9. Analysis of Occurrence:

There were no safety implications as the cooling system was in operation during this period except for plant outage period.

10. Corrective Action:

The new surveillance schedule will preclude recurrence of this event.

11. Failure Data:

There have been no previous occurrences of this event from this cause.
