The attached report of a routine announced inspection on August 15-17 and
29-31, 1972, is forwarded for information. Two items of noncompliance
relating to quality assurance were identified.
As a result of the principal inspector's telecon to FPC on September 26,
1972, commitments were made that should resolve the problems that have been
experienced with the effective implementation of the QA program at this
facility.
If the problems associated with the documentation of the decay
heat pump motors are not resolved prior to the next inspection, enforcement
action vill be taken.
A follovup inspection of the licensee's velding program vill be made within
the next month. This inspection vill be directed toward determining the
extent of the weaknesses observed during this inspection and to determine
if enforcement action is warranted.
