Dear Mr. Mannt As you knew, I have called sc e problems at the Cconee Nuclear Station to the attention of tha AIC.

Thanks to the efforts of yourself and Senator Ernest F. Hollingsg an inyestiga. tion ensued.

I was contacted bf a Mr. C. E. Murphy of the Atlanta AEC office, via talephone, ard advised that all to the incidents that I had knowledg2 cf had boon confirmend...and that all had been investi ated, and proper action taken.

6 Mr. Murphy fudhar stated that I would receive a detailed report of these incidents very shcrtly.

In addi. tion, Mr. Murphy was quite cardid cver the phone, ard told me a I could accc=py his on subsequent investigations if I had infer =ation to reveal.

{

At this time, I felt that the AIC was really doing its job of regulation.

In

'~

  • fact, I felt Mr. Murphy and the AIC was genuine in their concern over the proble=s at Ocones.

So, I wrote a quite frank and honest letter to Mr. No::an C. Moseley, Director, Directorate of Regulatory C;erations, Atlanta, Georgia.

I did not make a copy cf this letter, ht told Mr. Mesaley that I would be willing to tour Ocones with' Mr. Mur-lhy, ard point cut. the trip;cd nonitors that I centioned to him ever the phone.

And I than' ad his for the st: rial cent, ad told his I uas looking for-wa.'d to the report that I*r. Murphy said would be sent to me as soon as it was ces-

.plete.

~

Pleaso note that Mr. Murphy suggested that I tour Octnee with him, ard that he told na the report would be sent ns.

I hve no desire to get any closer to Ocenca than 2ccescary...so you can imagine my surprise when I received the onclcsed letter frca Mr. Mcceley.

~

I feel that the report en the incidents I .,rought cut concernin.g Cconce shculd

te sent ne, as presised.

As far as visiting Cconee again, I wasn't the one suc esting

. it... it was Mr. Murphy.

If my presence could assist the AIC, I'd be willing to make th.e trip.

But Cconce is certainly not whers I would plan a picnic.

.I can (and will, if neccessary) go to the Walhall.LIlirary to view tha repert, i

" tut' this will :rcrk a hardship on =a, an ny time is quite li=itad, as I =ust ucrk to

, cupport ny fenily an:1 tho U. S. Gevorn=cnt.

Sinca I t'cught the:e inci:icnts to tha attentien of tha AIC, I feel that tha sending of th3 roport to na is quito ciner.

I urga you to contact tha AIC and sur; cst they send so a ecpy of tha reperti as

'p:chiced.

Ecst a :tred that I will study it quito carefully, and advica ycu cf'any discropcacies that I night find.

Also, I am cur-antly studying the Environnantal
