LICENSEE'S RESPONSE TO THIRD SET OF INTERROGATORIES OF MARVIN I. LEWIS INTERROGATORY NO. SP-25 Review all previous interrogatories to Licensee from Intervenor Lewis with the following change: Wherever cracks are referred to in vent header change to leaks in vent header.

(a) Does this substantially change any answer'to SP-1 through SP-24 interrogatories?

(b) If any answer is substantially changed, submit answer.

RESPONSE

_ Changing the word " cracked" to " leaked" in the previously submitted interrogatories results in the following changes:

SP-4 See response to* Interrogatory No. SP-24.

SP-6 See SP-4.

SP-7 Licensee has no knowledge of any leaks in the TMI-l vent header.

SP-8 See SP-4 and SP-7.

INTERROGATORY NO. SP-26 This is not only an interrogatory, but also a partial answer to the Licensee's interrogatory No. 2. Presumably the Licensee will present testimony to show that the vent header and filters ,

are acceptable in TMI-1. Intervenor Lewis may have to limit his presentation to cross examination of Licensee's witnesses. Send i the names and qualifications of the Licensee's witnesses regard-  :

ing the Lewis Contention including a synopsis of their testimony.

RESPONSE

Met Ed has as yet made no selection of witnesses who will testify on the vent header and filters of TMI-1. Since witnesses l have not yet been selected, it is not possible at this time to  ;

respond to this interrogatory. However, background and qualifica-tions of any experts who may be offered by Licensee as witnesses will be included in prepared testimony filed with all participants in advance of the hearing session at which such witnesses may appear. -

INTERROGATORY NO. SP-27 Does the Licensee keep files or dockets or dossiers on the back-grounds of Marvin I. Lewis or Susan Barley? Do these dockets contain hearsay, background checks, criminal records, or documen-tation from governmental agencies? Intervenor Lewis is particularly interested in whether Met Ed or its business contacts keep records of the type recently found to be kept by the Georgia Power Company on anti-nuclear activists.

RESPONSE

Licensee is unaware of any files, dockets, or dossiers in its possession (or ever were) on the backgrounds of Marvin I. {

Lewis or Susan Barley with the following possible exceptions:

(1) The current mailing address of both individuals  ;

is outside the service, territory of GPU/ Met Ed.

Normal customer business records may exist if either

individual ever resided within the service territory of Licensee.

(2) Voluntary sign-in register logs were maintained at the TMI observation center prior to the TMI-2 accident. Whether or not either of these indi-viduals ever opted to sign such registers is un-known to Licensee without burdensome review of such records, which Licensee has not attempted.

(3) Licensee maintains TMI security logs and TLD ex-posure data for site personnel, including visi-tors. Although the latter contains no records of either individual, if either Marvin Lewis or Susan Barley were ever issued TMI visitor badges, plant records, in the form of sign-in logs, woule' record this information. Licensee has not at- -

tempted to review daily logs to ascertain if such is the case.
