Summary of Operating Experience February - 1960 Indian Point Unit 3 was sychronized to the bus for a total of 479.2 i hours, producing a gross generation of 67,340 mwh for this reporting period. - During this period, the unit completed, the refueling outage, initiated startup and brought reactor power up to 50%. On February 9th at 20:53 the reactor was brought critical.
Commenced plant startup and sychronized to the bus at 21:43 on
- February. 11', 1980. . The unit was subsequently shutdown due to steam-leaks out the vents of the Moisture Separator Reheaters. The unit was returned to service at 06:16 on February 13, 1980, operated at approximately 125 megawatts for eight hours and was then removed from service to perform the turbine overspeed test. The unit was returned to service at 23:28 on February 15, 1980 and remained at minimum load of approximately 125 megawatts in preparation for addition of boric acid to the steam generators.
On February 21st reactor power was increased to 25% at which
. . time the Bcric Acid was added to the Steam Generators. Primary and
- Secondary Plant Parameters Testing and controlled boric acid soak of the steam generators was completed on February 25th and power esca-lation to 50% reactor power commenced. On February 27th reactor power was increased to 50% and maintained for reactor testing.
