The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all tnat is known by 1E staff as of this date FACILITY:
Duke Power Company Oconee, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-269 Seneca, South Carolina
SUBJECT:
UNIT SHUTDOWN TO REPAIR LEAKING VALVES The Oconee Station, Unit No: 1 reactor is to be shut down tonight (August 27, 1979) to repair a body to bonnet gasket leak on the decay heat removal line.
Tnere are other small identified packing leaks inside the containment which ill be repaired during the outage.
The outage is expected to last two days.
Media interest is not anticipated.
A news release is not planned by the

The State of South Carolina has been inforced.
Region II (Atlanta) received notification of this occurrence by telechone from a ; ant representative at 3:00 p.m. on August 27.
